A gala dinner and sports memorabilia auction will be presented at the gym Saturday at 6 p.m. The night will include a catered dinner for 300 guests from the World Famous Kopper Kettle Inn Restaurant in Morristown, IN. Angelo Pizzo will be one of the guest speakers and Kelvin Sampson, new Indiana University men's basketball coach, will be a special guest. You can also look forward to meeting many of the Hickory Husker players and some other movie cast that will in attendance. Knightstown auctioneer Mark Tompkins will sell approximately 25 items, including an original backboard from the Hoosier Gym, which was built in 1921. Tickets ($75 per person or $500 for a table of 8) are still available for this event. Proceeds benefit the Hoosier Gym Community Center of Knightstown.
